  119. %Descr:  Unlike other independent distributors that carry zines as a
  120.          sideline to their mainstream magazine business. Desert moon
  121.          carries some mainstream magazines in addition to their
  122.          strong emphasis on zines and independent magazines.
  123. Their new catalog is the closest thing I've seen to *Factsheet
  124. Five*. They've got listings of tons of magazines with prices and
  125. stuff, all available directly from them. Interestingly enought
  126. the format their catalog in the oposite direction from F5. All
  127. the magazines are listed alphabetically in the main section with
  128. a category subject listing in the front. This is a format that I
  129. considered as it allows magazines to be listed in multiple
  130. categories.

  140. %Descr:  Seeing a catalog like this reafirms my faith in our
  141.          freedoms. No they don't sell books on how to manufacture
  142.          automatic weapons (not that it isn't a valid pursuit). They
  143.          sell simple books on how to grow plants to enjoy in the
  144.          privacy of your own home.
  145. This is a very complete catalog with books on marijuana
  146. cultivation, mushroom growth, and chemicial synthisis. I have
  147. total faith that FS Books is very reputatble and they keep a
  148. tight lid on their mailing list so there's no need about being
  149. tracked down by the local (or national) authorities. The tides
  150. are changing and some states are considering legislation that
  151. with decriminalize the production and consumption of substances
  152. for personal use. Lets hope things inprove so we can all relax
  153. and enjoy life some day.

  155. mushroom growing supplies.

  164.          Factsheet Five you're gonna love the Fine Print magazine
  165.          catalog.  Fine Print sells wholesale magazines to newsstands
  166.          around the country. Unfortunately you can't really order
  167.          just a few magazines from then to read but they still have
  168.          lots of unique stuff here. I would totally recomend this to
  169.          all you information junkies out there that need to know
  170.          about every unique magazines on the market.
  171. Literary, Music, Photography, UFOs, and their "Marginalia"
  172. section, which is like a five-page F5 editor's choice. Warning:
  173. This is only recomended as a reference guide, not a consumer
  174. catalog.

  243.          doing so it's easier to order directly from the record

  246. This second issue is similar to the first one, with the exception
  247. of the two pages of record reviews. Look for a largely expaned
  248. third issue soon.

  262.          how you want to stalk your prey.

  272. %Descr:  "Friend's Rubber Stamps" is a most appropriate name for
  273.          Kevin's company. Not only because that's his last name but
  274.          also because of the loving care he puts into the creation of
  275.          the stamps. The blocks are a joy to hold and use. Made of
  276.          wood, like many others but the construction and feel is
  277.          uniquely his own.
  278. I really enjoyed his dowel mounts with rounded edges. Even his
  279. rectagular mounts are unlike those used by other companies. My
  280. favorate so far is this tiny organic-looking tube mounted on a
  281. tiny piece of wood. Even better is the packaging they were sent
  282. in. Kevin is truly a master of rubber stamp art. The complete
  283. catalog is one of the strangest collection of images I've seen.
  284. If you're into high weirdness by mail this catalog is a must.
  285. He charges two bucks but say's he'll trade. Send a CD and he'll
  286. even trade a free rubber stamp.

  294. %Descr:  Many radio stations put out promotional newsletter to keep
  295.          their listeners informed but only the best radio station in
  296.          the country could produce the best radio newsletter in the
  297.          country. WFMU has been the savior for die-hard music freaks
  298.          living in the radio desert of New York City.
  299. Now that they can put all that FCC stuff behind them they can get
  300. to more important things at hand -- making money. Yes, this
  301. edition of *LCD* is in the form of a merchandise catalog. And
  302. what merchandise there is. Coolness galore! Sun Ra records, Ed
  303. Wood Jr. cards, incredibly strange music, conspiracies theories,
  304. and their classic "Crackpots and Visionaries" trading cards.

  346.          mere existance of this catalog is almost proof itself that
  347.          we have at least a few freedoms left.  Books about avoiding
  348.          taxes, lock picking, weapondry, violence, drugs, anarchy,
  349.          survival, and other "restricted" ideas.  The best part are
  350.          the articles and features.  Book excerpts and other related
  351.          essays are spread throught the catalog like plums as your
  352.          scan through the pages.

  363.          catalog and they also sent in three samples for review. They
  364.          use the standard handle blocks, which is good becase two of
  365.          the samples are really big and require a good grip to get a
  366.          decent impression. They also sport extra thick rubber
  367.          padding.
  368. The first of the big ones is an antique woodcut of Adam and Eve
  369. being tempted by a skeleton tree. The second is a very cool
  370. drawing of a tattooed modern primative all huddled up. The last
  371. is a small stick figure drawing of an animal of sorts that looks
  372. like it was copied off a cave wall.

  388. absolute favorates are the "everyday items," including a vintage
  389. electric fan, ol' time movie projector, empty suitcase, and the
  390. must-have victorian egg beater.

  416.          time, noticed the company name and wondered about the books
  417.          part.  Here they are.  While many of the books offered here
  418.          can be found in a decent library or well-stocked bookstore,
  419.          most of the books available here are unlikely to be found
  420.          anywhere else.  I doubt if any other mail-order house (let
  421.          alone *store*) carries "Rudolf Hess:  Prisoner of Peace" or
  422.          "Adolf Hitler:  The Unkown Artist" or video versions of
  423.          "Judd Suus" and "Der Ewige Jude."  The catalog also has some
  424.          reprints of National Vanguard pamphlets and information on
  425.          the radio network.

  440.          comes with a stack of neat junk for your exploration and
  441.          fun.
  442. This short issue with info on making a match shooter came with an
  443. iron-on, a bunch of cool stickers, some nifty bookmarks, and some
  444. trading cards.

  471. books are available elseware but it's great to see such a good
  472. selection of books on weirdness.

  483. catalog back to front. That way you start with the T-shirts, then
  484. check out the peweter jewelery, on to the crosses, then studs,

  486. you're heavily into the goth, or you just enjoy some interesting
  487. sex once in a while, get this catalog.

  511. This latest eddition of the *Quimby's Queer Store Catalog* is a
  512. welcome addition to the categories of "Magalogs." A truly
  513. impresive work. It not only functions as a catalog for his store,
  514. he also packed in tons of extensive reviews of all kinds of neat
  515. stuff. As if that wasn't enought, there's also lenthy articles
  516. about the zine community, lots of zine gossip, and 13 pages of
  517. cool comix.

  529. October is of course the month of Holloween. It's the day when
  530. suburban children knock on doors for sweets, the adult residents
  531. of San Francisco dance in the streets, and Ruth recounts all her
  532. psychic experiences. It seems that she's lived in at least six

  727.          wonderfully bizare multicolored catalog. They're mounted on
  728.          the standard flat handled wood blocks but with some nice
  729.          touches. They must have a large variety of blocks becuse
  730.          they're all perfectly adjusted to the size of the stamp.
  731.          Even better are the sanded round bevels on the edges and the
  732.          corners. A nice touch that few stamp manufactured do.
  733. "A new thrill for the Jaded," "No Dickheads" with a graphical
  734. image of what most closely resembles a "dickhead," and a tiny
  735. stamp of what looks like a man pushing a nail into his head.
